New ONAP lab in Integration-SB-01

Marco Platania

Hi All,

I installed a new ONAP lab in Integration-SB-01 in Windriver. The RKE VM/Jump host IP address is 10.12.6.37. Find below a valid /etc/hosts that you can set in your local machine to access ONAP services through REST calls:

10.12.6.56 portal.api.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 vid.api.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 sdc.api.fe.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 portal-sdk.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 policy.api.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 aai.api.sparky.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 cli.api.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 msb.api.discovery.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 clamp.api.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 sdc.dcae.plugin.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 sdc.workflow.plugin.simpledemo.onap.org

10.12.6.56 appc.api.simpledemo.onap.org

ONAP is still installing, so please give it a little bit of time before using it. Note that, based on Ofir’s recommendation, we installed SDC 1.6.0 and Workflow Designer 1.5.2. These are NOT the latest images, but they are expected to be stable and in full sync with the current SDC Helm charts.

Thanks,

Marco

Master password is used to generate all other passwords (like DB for
example) in ONAP deployment

What should it be set to? THANKS
It should beset to any string that you like and believe is secure enough
for the purpose of your deployment.

Looks like something in your environment isn’t allowing the Cinder storage to be created.

You need to check you openstack logs to see what the problem is.

It seems that this patch is not ready for merge yet.

We did bump the WF-D version to avoid such impact, but due to inconsistency in version.properties file, the 1.6.0 snapshot version got overridden (instead of publishing 1.6.1) - sorry about that.
Couldn't we just override it once again because some pods are failing
because of those components failures and it's hard for us to ensure the
adequate level of quality at the OOM gating...

Hi,

recently sdc-wfd-be and sdc-wfd-fe started to fail in OOM gating because of sdc-wfd-be-workflow job failing with enigmatic logs:

Connection error: ('Unable to connect to any servers',

Does anyone has a clue what happen with SDC pod or how to fix this issue?

FINAL REMINDER: ONES LFN/LFE Booth Demo Ideas Due Feb 26

Brandon Wick

LFN Community:

We hope that you are planning to attend the Open Networking & Edge Summit North America, April 20-21, in Los Angeles, California. Those in attendance at the last four ONS events will recall that we hosted an LF Networking Booth that showcased many community-driven demos from the LFN technical project communities. Our goal is to showcase compelling uses of LFN Networking & LF Edge project technology to solve real world industry challenges. See this blog post from ONS Europe last fall to get a sense for what types of demos have been shown in the LF Networking Booth.

In 2020, the Open Networking & Edge Summit is expanding to comprehensively cover Edge Computing, Edge Cloud, and IoT. Accordingly, the community demo zone is expanding to consider demo proposals from the LF Edge project community as well. Another change for this year is that demo managers and co-presenters need to be from LF Networking or LF Edge member companies. Submissions that include vendor companies also require that the vendors be sponsors of the Open Networking & Edge Summit event. Note: There are many event sponsorship options available at all price levels including a sponsorship option for the LFN/LFE Pavilion demos specifically. Please see the event prospectus to review the options and let me know if you have any questions.

The call for demo ideas for the Open Networking & Edge Summit North America is now open.

Demos to be shown in the LFN/LFE booth will be chosen by LFN & LF Edge Project leadership using the following criteria:
  • Demos must include technology from at least one of the LF Networking or LF Edge projects (e.g. ONAP, OPNFV, Akraino, EdgeX Foundry)
    • Special consideration will be given to submissions that:
    • Showcase cross-project collaboration and integration
    • Map to a specific industry use case
    • Include participation and endorsement from a service provider organization
    • Show project diversity (e.g. projects not covered in other submissions)
The final number of demo stations is still TBD. Demos stations will again have a backdrop, signage, counter/table, chair(s) monitor, power, and Wi-Fi internet. Note: Apart from the event sponsorship requirement, there is no cost to host a standard demo in the LFN booth although additional power, internet, space, etc. may incur a cost.

Here are the key dates to keep in mind:
  • Feb 5: Demo idea solicitation email sent to community lists
  • Feb 26: Demo ideas submissions due at 11:59 PM PT
  • March 4: Demos ideas reviewed, chosen, and notifications sent
  • April 21-22: Demos shown at ONES North America
Demo manager responsibilities include:
  • Creating the demo concept and actual demo to be shown
  • Responding promptly to requests for information
  • Meeting all demo preparation deadlines
  • Setting up and testing the demo pre-show and taking down post-show
  • Staffing the demo during ONS expo hours (along with other designated team members to help share the load)
  • Being willing to participate in media activities, e.g. photos, videos
To submit your demo idea for consideration, please collect and provide the following information:
  • Demo title (10 words max)
  • Brief demo description (200 words max)
  • List of demo manager(s) with contact information
  • List of open source projects involved
  • List of companies involved
  • Any extra requirements or special considerations
Submit your demo ideas by Feb 26th by filling in the Google Form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfwjEfCcWUKMfiK404Uu51Zl70-8lqcRFCKKQ5vW3eeLOGAfw/viewform. If you cannot access the form, email bwick@... and I will send you the form over email.

Please let me know if you have any questions and we look forward to seeing your submissions!

[SDC] sdc-wfd-be & sdc-wfd-fe failures in gating

Krzysztof Opasiak

Hi,

recently sdc-wfd-be and sdc-wfd-fe started to fail in OOM gating because
of sdc-wfd-be-workflow job failing with enigmatic logs:

Connection error: ('Unable to connect to any servers',

Does anyone has a clue what happen with SDC pod or how to fix this issue?

Discussion of migrations and brownfield data in ONAP A&AI / Runtime DB

Jimmy Forsyth

All,

The first part of tomorrow’s AAI developer’s call will be dedicated to a discussion of using the A&AI and RunTime DB solutions in the context of brownfield deployments in an effort to bring data from disparate systems into a unified view.

At this point we are simply framing the problem before we move toward solutions.  This is intended to be a session where ONAP partners who have interest in data migration and creating unified inventory solutions for brownfield and embedded base can share experiences and ideas for improving ONAP, and possibly for ONAP users to share success stories of using existing projects in this context.

Zoom information and meeting details can be found here:

https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/2020-02-25+AAI+Developers+Meeting

Please join if you have interest, if this time does not work for you but you have interest, please reply directly to me and I will try to organize a separate session for those who cannot attend Tuesday morning calls.  Apologies for trying to squeeze this into an already packed ONAP schedule, but as we all know it’s impossible to schedule anything in the very tight windows based on community rules.

Thanks,

jimmy

Hi Team,

We have some issues/queries related to vCPE usecase on El-alto.

1. Before Deploying the customer service as a part of Checklist for El Alto Release: healthcheck.py script output we are not getting as expected. RESTCONF from SDNC to BRG curl is not working, but ping is working.

2. BRG and SDNC connected through OAM network, We are able to ping SDNC from BRG but vice-versa (i.e. SDNC to BRG) is not happening.

3. Where do we get tap interfaces related information (for example how many tap interfaces should be present in BNG) for each (i.e. BNG, GMUX, BRG) in VCPE.

Please provide your inputs,if anyone faced these issues.

Regards,
Naveen
