CLAMP - VES - SERVICE

Aniello Paolo Malinconico

Hi All,
I want to create s service with a related closed loop.
My service is composed by a VM acting as vFW for example.
I have created a Ves Agent that publishes some data on the http://x.x.x.x:30227/events/unauthenticated.VES_MEASUREMENT_OUTPUT/n3ll1x93/1?timeout=120
Used Domain for ves messages is "measurement".

I want to create a CLAMP deployment that scaling the VM due a treshold policy (defined in clamp such as  event.measurementsForVfScalingFields.vNicPerformanceArray[*].receivedTotalPacketsDelta )
I have understood that the TCA.yaml is the file that joins my service with CLAMP and VES data.
But How should be customized the tca.yaml file?

Which fileds should I change from the attached tca file to be used for my custom service?
Is there any reference guide?

Thanks a lot,

Aniello Paolo Malinconico

To debug this issue, can we have zoom meeting now and I will share my screen which contains environment.

The environment is created internally and I am not sure to share externally.

Dear All,

In Dublin version, Policy GUI push operation has some issue.

When we click on push button ideally it should have been displayed configured policies but its continuously querying and not displaying the configured policies.

Steps to reproduce issue:

1) Open policy GUI

2) Click on Push button and observed this issue

Hi All,
just to warn that this iusse is still present in Dublin.  using the nexus3.onap.org:10001/onap/org.onap.dcaegen2.deployments.k8s-bootstrap-container:1.4.18  image version.

Fix;
You can update the streamID configuration in Consul (http://<k8snode>:30270/ui/#/dc1/kv/dcae-ves-collector/edit) by changing the word "measurements" to "measurement".
The VES instance will refresh any configuration updates periodically from consul.

Please suggest how can I make it to use the other version. Thank you

Hi Vamshi,

Can you please look at the readme file for using the hpa automation script. I think you are missing to pass the configuration file parameter.

Re: Standardizing docker-maven-plugin, com.spotify or io.fabric8

Jerry Flood

Regarding attempt to use io.fabric8 docker-maven-plugin to build images behind a firewall, I have found that passing the proxy in via buildArgs:

<args>
<http_proxy_arg>${docker.http_proxy}</http_proxy_arg>
<https_proxy_arg>${docker.https_proxy}</https_proxy_arg>
</args>

results in the following when the proxy passed is an empty string (i.e. not behind a firewall)

[ERROR] Failed to execute goal io.fabric8:docker-maven-plugin:0.30.0:build (generate-images) on project cmso-optimizer: Execution generate-images of goal io.fabric8:docker-maven-plugin:0.30.0:build failed: null value in entry: http_proxy_arg=null -> [Help 1]

In an attempt to avoid modifying  the pom.xml to add/remove the <args>, I have tried numerous hacks to get around this which are pretty ugly.

Has anyone managed to effectively use spotify or io.frabic8 to build behind a firewall without modifying the Dockerfile or pom.xml?

VNFSDK Tosca Validation, VTP

Mandeep Singh Kalra

Hi,

I have some questions related to the VNFSDK certification , according to the current understanding VNF Test Platform ( VTP ) will be used to invoke the test cases.

  1. When we upload the VNF package on marketplace, are any of these VTP cases executed automatically in Dublin?
  2. Is VTP, the interface point for calling Dovetail now, and what kind of use cases are covered by Dovetail and how can we invoke those ?
  3. Understanding is that VTP is covering SOL1/SOL4 compliance cases, I think work is in progress for LCM test cases using python scripts, will VTP call the python script in this case for e2e lcm test validation ?

Mandeep

Re: K8s in ONAP - DDF follow up

Lukasz Rajewski

Hi,

so I confirm that deleting the pod works. I have tried creation of Instance multiple times and pods were failing randomly - after their delete they were spinning up. Sometimes after creation of instance all pods were up already. So I have switched to master version of plugin and problem with creation of instance disappeared. Instead, while deleting the Instance I have always following bug:

"Deleting Instance Resources: Deleting resources: Error deleting ovn4nfvk8s_onap-private-net: No plugin for resource  found"

So, summarizing, for me the Dublin version of plugin works with workaround only - delete of pod and change of framework-artifactbroker image to 1.3.4-SNAPSHOT with K8s plugin of 0.4.0 version. Master version of plugin works for creation of Instance but its delete does not.

Lukasz

I logged in to the KUD in SB-00 environment and deleted the packetgen and firewall pods. Once they were recreated these Pods came up without any issues. We can see the traffic flow on this address using curl or browser - 10.12.6.96:30667

Not sure what went wrong when you tried it. Can you delete the demo and try again?

Hi Ritu

I have downloaded your last patched that enhance tests. Attached you can find kud install log and logs from tests - they look ok. The test that use plugin was a bit modified by me to use the plugin which is installed in ONAP env so I have changed base_url to this one "http://${K8S_NODE_IP}:30280/api/multicloud-k8s/v1/v1" - please remember that I use plugin from Dublin release having version 0.4.0, like you suggested.

The result of test is the same. Pods maintained by virtlet have following logs

Type     Reason                  Age               From                Message
  ----     ------                  ----              ----                -------

  Warning  FailedCreatePodSandBox  105s              kubelet, localhost  Failed create pod sandbox: rpc error: code = DeadlineExceeded desc = context deadline exceeded
  Warning  FailedCreatePodSandBox  4s (x8 over 92s)  kubelet, localhost  Failed create pod sandbox: rpc error: code = Unknown desc = "/run/virtlet.sock": rpc error: code = 2 desc = Error adding pod test-release-firewall-785cf4d76-lzjz5 (e80cb87b-adec-11e9-9af9-fa163ee69be5) to CNI network: server returned error: error getting fd: error creating new netns for pod test-release-firewall-785cf4d76-lzjz5 (e80cb87b-adec-11e9-9af9-fa163ee69be5): exit status 1

You can easily access this KUD env because it is created on SB-00 environment - ssh key is the same like to any other VM there. VM name is: onap-k8s-region1. I have left all objects created by the plugin.

Hi

The change in the patch from Konard is not needed. The original Helm chart is created per Multus requirement and it works.

Added a new test case https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/multicloud/k8s/+/91890/ for testing that. Non default namespace can be created as shown in this test case. The new patch is creating Multus configuration per service which will work but that is not needed.

Lukasz – Can you share kud_installer.log? If possible can we log in the KUD system to see the state of the installation. Can you run the tests as given in the wiki page to confirm if KUD installation is healthy? https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Kubernetes+Baremetal+deployment+setup+instructions (running test cases)

Hi,

referring to what Konrad said, I tried to use modified charts from https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/multicloud/k8s/+/91864/. but they do not work on my KUD instance which is different than the one of Konrad - I follow https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Kubernetes+Baremetal+deployment+setup+instructions while Konrad installs more addons and some extra patches - maybe this makes a difference for him.

Hi all,

Just updating my issues with Pod Sandbox - Srini - you was right, these errors were caused by using non-default namespace in demo chart.
I've troubleshooted this issue a little and it turned out it was caused by NetworkAttachmentDefinition for ovn missing on non-default namespaces (in default one it is installed during KUD spinup). I've corrected demo charts to provide their own NetworkAttachmentDefinition regardless of namespace (also with different name not to collide on default namespace with existing one) so that this issue was fixed.
I've run my test suite over it and it looks fine, so please take a look at https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/multicloud/k8s/+/91864/.
With this change applied, I'm able to spin up all pods (and other resources) of vFW demo by k8splugin on custom namespace.

Hi again,

I've managed to launch some more basic tests today and it looks like my change doesn't fix this issue completely. It fixes creating network resources and they are created correctly (please see log below), however pods are having issues with creating sandbox due to multus issues. Nevertheless I think that pod sandbox issue may have root cause anchored somewhere else, so probably additional fix may be needed.

Thanks Kanagaraj.

Is this the configuration file you’re referring, I’ve passed it correctly in hpa_automation.py file

config_file_path = "/tmp/oclip/integration/test/hpa_automation/heat/hpa_automation_config.json"

hpa_automation_config.json as follows

{

"open_cli_product" : "onap-dublin",

"open_cli_home" : "/tmp/oclip/",

"aai_url" : "https://10.211.1.20:30233",

Kindly suggest. Thank you

Hi Vamshi,

Can you please look at the readme file for using the hpa automation script. I think you are missing to pass the configuration file parameter.
