Re: Dublin AAI resource exception AAIException: No Node of type esr-ems found at: external-system/esr-ems-list

Hi AAI Team,

I am resending this one as my email earlier email bounced back.

I couldn't root cause this issue, so I had to reset the AAI graph admin schema in Cassandra and everything went through.

I guess this may not be the perfect solution. I suspect that this is something to do with AAI janusgraph schema initialization or Conurrency issue discussed here https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=50203651.

Anyway, please do let us know, if you anyone has a proper solution to resolve this issue.

Regards
Vivek

Re: How to delete and re-create AAI schema on existing ONAP deployment

Vivekanandan Muthukrishnan

Hi All,

I did not find any AAI Graphadmin scripts to reset the graph database. So, I deleted the Cassandra schema keyspce aaigraph and re-deployed AAI. Everything came back.

Here are the steps to reset AAI database schema.

1. Helm undeploy AAI

2. Delete the AAI Cassandra schema keyspace aaigraph

    export CASSANDRA_POD_NAME=$(kubectl get pods -n onap | grep 'cassandra-cassandra-0' | awk '{print $1}')

kubectl exec -it -n onap ${CASSANDRA_POD_NAME} -- /usr/bin/cqlsh -u cassandra -p cassandra -e 'DROP KEYSPACE IF EXISTS aaigraph'

3. Redeploy AAI again

4. Check if the AAI keyspace created successfully

    kubectl exec -it -n onap ${CASSANDRA_POD_NAME} -- /usr/bin/cqlsh -u cassandra -p cassandra -e 'SELECT * FROM system.schema_keyspaces'

           aaigraph |           True |          org.apache.cassandra.locator.SimpleStrategy | {"replication_factor":"3"}

Thanks & Regards
Vivek

Re: APPC Actions in VF Scale Out Use Case

Marco Platania

In case of vFW SO is not part of LCM. Policy goes straight to APPC with a payload that contains configuration that APPC pushes to the VNF. The message from Policy to APPC also contains the VNF ID of the vPacketGen, so APPC can get the vPacketGen IP address from the list of mountpoints.

Hi Marco,
thanks for replying .

I have understood how it works for the vDNS use case.
But in the vFW use case, for example , the SO behavior is the same? SO will retrive info (i.e. vpkt ip from AAI generic-vnf of  vfw service)  and passes it to APPC as part of the request payload.
Or does the SO behavior change?

Thanks,

dockerdata-nfs data size causes ONAP crash #dublin #mariadb #so #nfs

Ferrero Marco Angelo

Hi everybody,

In the last two months, we have being used ONAP executing the vDNS-vLB use case many times.
Yesterday  ONAP suddenly stopped working.
According to the result of our analysis it happened because there was no free disk space on the VM hosting the shared directory /dockerdata-nfs .
More specifically such directory is hosted on the VM nfs-server which was deployed with 200GB of disk space used in this way: OS and other stuff occupies 6GB while the remaining 194 GB are occupied by the dockerdata-nfs directory.
Today we have re-installed Dublin from scratch and we notice that /dockerdata-nfs directory occupies 15GB

We have the following concern:
Is this an ONAP design issue or did we configure it in a wrong way?

….and the following questions:

Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

What are your/dockerdata-nfs directory occupation statistics ?

Are there some scripts or whatever that could be used in order to reduce the amount of data in /dockerdata-nfs directory (for example by deleting some older logs ...) to avoid the system to crash in the future?

Thank you
Best regards,

Marco Ferrero

2019 ONAP TSC Elections - Call for nominations

Jim Baker

Dear ONAP Community,

Nominations for seats on the ONAP TSC officially open @ 9:00 Pacific Time, Monday, October 21, 2019

If you are interested in running for a seat on the TSC, please read all of this information carefully

Who is eligible to Run:  Any Active Community Members as of 20:00 Pacific Time, Sunday, Oct 20, 2019

4.1.1.1 TSC Membership Definitions  Active Community Member: Anyone from the ONAP community with twenty (20) or more measurable contributions during the previous 12-month period, inclusive of code merged, code reviews performed, wiki page edits, or JIRA activities.

#1 Self-Nomination Phase

Individuals interested in running for a TSC position MUST REPLY-ALL TO THIS ORIGINAL EMAIL with your intention to run before 17:00 Pacific time, Nov 1st.

NOTE: Replying to another candidate's self-nomination email announcing your own self-nomination is considered a blatant disregard for open source community norms. If you do that, you should probably re-assess both your qualifications and motivations for leading a collaborative community such as this.

Your self-nomination email must include a link to your stats in Bitergia (instructions on how to do this).
It is strongly recommended that candidates also include a small head-shot, a short biography and statement of intent on why you would be a good person to hold a seat on the TSC.

As a courtesy, it is also requested that you fill in the  2019 TSC Election Candidates wiki page with that same information. Filling out the wiki page is NOT in lieu of sending the email as required, but it will greatly help facilitate the process of the elections.

Special Provision for the original 9 ONAP Operators:  There are 9 seats reserved for the nine original ONAP Platinum Service Provider members. Each of these Operators is REQUIRED to have at least one person nominate themselves for their seat on the TSC. If and only if an Operator does not have any eligible Active Community Members at the time of nomination process, they may appoint a nominee to run in the election.  In such cases, the nominee must indicate that they are exercising a provisional nomination in their email. (Refer to 4.2.3.2 TSC Member Candidates)

·         The nomination phase begins 9:00 Pacific Time, Monday, Oct 21, 2019

·         The nomination phase ends 17:00 Pacific Time, Friday, Nov 1, 2019

#2 Election Phase

Who is eligible to Vote: Any Active Community Members as of 20:00 Pacific Time, Sunday, Oct 20, 2019

A Condorcet election will be held using the
CIVS voting system.  Active Community Members will receive an invitation to vote from CIVS.

·         The election phase will begin with the distribution of the CIVS poll via email from the application

·         The election phase will end two (2) weeks later in the same time zone the poll was initiated from

Election Results

  • The election of TSC Members shall consist of a single stack ranked vote of all candidates
  • Only the top ranked candidates from any single company will be elected; if the top 10 vote getters are all from the same company, only the person with the highest number of votes out of all 10 will be elected from that company.
  • The top ranked candidate from each Operator will be selected, for a total of nine members, one member from each Operator
  • The top ranked non-Operator candidates (whether affiliated with a company or an individual contributor), will be selected for the remaining nine seats, with no more than one member per company or group of related companies being selected.
  • The LF will update the Voting Results History page with their name, date, and link to the publicly viewable CIVS results and send an email to the distribution list and to onap-tsc

Hi Thiriloshini,

If you have not figured out yet, please try below suggestion.

If AAI app is running healthy, you may try to read last comments in https://jira.onap.org/browse/PORTAL-653 to follow steps to access A&AI from Portal GUI. Thanks.

Manoop

  1. After the above step, I see AAI in the ONAP Portal

  1. When I click on AAI, it says portal.api.simpledemo.onap.org refused to connect.

  1. When I try to open AAI in a separate tab using http://aai.ui.simpledemo.onap.org:30220/services/aai/webapp/index.html, it returns ERR_INVALID_HTTP_RESPONSE. Using https instead of http http://aai.ui.simpledemo.onap.org:30220/services/aai/webapp/index.html, redirects to ONAP Portal page.

Any input is highly appreciated.

Please let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks,
