ONAP sizing/performance ?

Đạt Lê

Hi all,
I am trying to deploy ONAP in my lab. Does anyone have any documents about sizing or performance of ONAP ?
With minimum hardware requirement (https://docs.onap.org/projects/onap-oom/en/guilin/oom_cloud_setup_guide.html?highlight=112#minimum-hardware-configuration), how many containers, Pods, VNF,... can ONAP manage ?
Thanks for reading.

Hi Linda

If I have understood the question, ONAP SO as a platform provides customizations of the workflow, one can have a event/time specific trigger tasks included in the execution.

This should be able to make it possible for you to choose the activation of the service and further its resources as is needed.

Hi SO team,
A question is that we want to send ONAP SO to book a service , and this service will be activated in future for example the service will be activated in 2 weeks at a specified time .
Is it possible that the booked service are not allocated to the service as the service is not yet active?
The reason is that AAI is built such that an allocation is associated with an active service. so it creates logical interfaces etc. we don't really want this for services that are not yet active.
Appreciate your response.
Thank you.

Running vFW without OpenStack

a23sriva@...

Edited

Hi,

I'm a beginner to ONAP and I want to set up a minimal example of a VNF. From reading through the wiki and past threads, it seems like I should set up vFW (or vFWCL?).
I am looking through this tutorial (https://docs.onap.org/projects/onap-integration/en/latest/docs_vfw.html) to try to get vFW working. But, the
.env files seem to have a field called cloudEnv, which it says should be set to rackspace or openstack.

I think my OOM isn't working either. I was able to run the deploy command but only dev-cassandra came up.
Is there a tutorial for deploying OOM and then deploying VNFs without using OpenStack (in containers instead)?

Thank you,
Anubhav Srivastava

Still, it that`s a BPMN only (No Java code), it might be possible to use a Camnuda BPMN engine REST interface to load a BPMN.

…but… that`s only for BPMN code, no Java code.

Hi ONAP SO team,

Does ONAP Frankfurt version support the war-based so deployment?
We want to deploy the customized SO workflows without impact the current up and running ONAP instance.
I found this page https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=79205041 in the ONAP WIKI about a POC of showing how to deploy "WAR-based deployment of workflow applications" based on Dublin version.
Please confirm is it supported in the ONAP frankfurt version?
Thank you .

Hi Linda

No, it's not yet integrated into the official functionality. We are working on it in a separate branch and will include it in the future releases.

It looks like on of these components includes (hard-codes) a certificate, which was expired.

Similar problem was recently fixed with Portal. Make sure, You`re using the newest ONAP/Frankfurt branch (latest changes in oom project in Frankfurt branch).

If that problem persists – create a Bug report, probably against Policy module.

Hello All,

I am new to ONAP and trying to install Frankfurt release using below page:
https://docs.onap.org/projects/onap-oom/en/frankfurt/oom_user_guide.html#oom-user-guide

Need group help to successfully install a working ONAP installation. Help is much appreciated.

Hardware: Standalone machine 64 GB RAM with 24 CPUs
OS: Oracle Linux Server 7.5

Installed Docker, minikube, kubelet and Helm.

It seems that the packages above are not properly installed on my system. Couldn't locate kubectl config from Rancher as mentioned in the page.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Paste kubectl config from Rancher (see the OOM Cloud Setup Guide for alternative Kubernetes environment setups) into the ~/.kube/config file.
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

bash-4.2$ kubectl get nodes
NAME       AGE
minikube   1m
bash-4.2$ kubectl get pods
No resources found.
bash-4.2$
bash-4.2$ helm init
$HELM_HOME has been configured at /home/user_name/.helm.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong in K8s installation and configuration? Thanks for the help!

Hi Yukihiro,
we from the DOC Project have clarified the issue with the LF, as there was some confusion about the entrypoint of the ONAP documentation.

The core entrypoint to the ONAP documentation for all releases is:
https://docs.onap.org

Via this page you can find the pages you are looking for, e.g..

https://docs.onap.org/en/latest/guides/onap-operator/settingup/index.html

Best regards

Andreas

Hi Yukishiro,

Docs.onap.org is the authoritative source.

The other url was used for doc migration work during will be deprecated.

For instance, from "setting up/index.html" to the next pages.

Also From "developing/index.html" to the next pages.

Is there any person who can fix these?

ONAP Frankfurt multicloud install/usage problem

Yu-Chieh

Hi all:

I was trying to deploy ONAP Frankfurt version, with multicloud feather.

I looked into onap/resources/environments folder and found core-onap.yaml, which I used to launch ONAP. Also, I modified msb & multicloud flag to 'true' before launching. However, I got few problems after launch finished:
1. I could not find any so-related pods from k8s, even the 'so' flag was turned to true in the config yaml file.
2. There were some pods could not be launched.
3. I followed the guide from link: https://docs.onap.org/en/frankfurt/guides/onap-operator/cloud_site/k8s/index.html, tried to create a k8s cluster, however curl GET/POST to AAI returns the following error message:
{"timestamp":1591259867539,"status":403,"error":"Forbidden","message":"Access Denied","path":"/aai/v16/cloud-infrastructure/complexes/complex/My_Complex"}

The following message shows k8s pods:

Can anyone tell me what's wrong here? Or what should I do to get the multicloud feather work? Thanks for help!
